Absolutely the finest example to date of thorough and organized research! The history of Stangl dinnerware is presented in chronological order of the development of patterns; the history of the pottery and its people is both factual and entertaining. Mr. Runge's knowledge of the pottery and the people who made it great is vast and he shares it with the reader. This is more than a picture-price book - it's informative and interesting reading as well.Suggested prices are presented with the pattern they represent and are reflective of a nation-wide market, not just the New Jersey "going prices" we have seen before. I would recommend TWO books - one to keep "for nice" and one to use while shopping. You will find the photography to be excellent and detailed - you can actually identify patterns with confidence.Previous books seem to have been thrown together to get a book in print and are sadly out of date and incomplete. This one reflects years of research and thoughtful presentation. Absolutely a must for Stangl collectors and dealers!

As a member of the Stangl/Fulper Collectors Club, I, and the rest of the club, had been waiting five years for this book to finally be published (I was beginning to think the book may have been a hoax). And now that it finally has been released, I am very disappointed. The book as a whole seems very disorganized, it is difficult to find items, the color pictures are horrible (the color separations are way off throughout the book, which is supposed to be resource guide) and the writing is grade-schoolish at best. I expected a far more polished work from someone who is supposed to be so knowledgeable. The pricing guides are also questionable at best, with some items very undervalued, and others overvalued. I have to wonder if the author and his partner have set the prices to reflect their current inventory as they are also dealers of Stangl & Fulper potteries. Additionally, the book is far too large and cumbersome to carry with you when you shop, that is a definite drawback. Other books on the same subject are far more portable and conducive to collectors out shopping.

Once again Rob has announced himself as the premier Stangl Historian.As President of the Stangl Bird Collectors Club. . . I refer my membership and others to this book when questions arise, that do not pertain to our particular specialty. The pictures and descriptions are complete and the references are precise. Rob continues to be the leading promotor and disseminator of Stangl/Fulper information to those who love collecting these items. This book would be a valuable resource for anyone interested in the pottery at all. Pick it up.

This is one of the finest reference books in the industry today. Thoroughly researched and no stone left unturned, in fact, a remarkable manuscript by anyone's standards. I can hardly wait for his sequel to come out on Stangl Artware, Lamps and Birds. I hear its going to be a doozy!!I strongly suspect that Mr. Harvey Duke still has a lot of his own books to sell and has sent one of his henchmen to "stir the pot". FOR SHAME!!

Amazon seems to be lumping all different editions together in the reviews so it is impossible to know which edition you are reading about. Had it been clear that THIS printing was awful, i would not have purchased it. This has a brown cover with a picture of London on it. It was about $3. I received it today, and it is obviously a cheap home print job--thin, barely laminated cover, weird size (about 6x8"), very thin (entire book crammed into 45 pages). I bought it for first of three kids to read for school; this is not something I want to keep on my bookshelves for a while. It's a classic; I want a halfway decent copy. Child will continue to read it on free Kindle edition for now, and I'm ordering a new copy from a "known" publisher. Don't buy this one--

Beware...bought this because my 6th grader has to read it for school, thought he would enjoy an illustrated version. The issues...this book looks home made and for some strange reason the illustrations are all photos of artwork of naked ladies...not pictures from the story about DOGS!!!! The font for the story is literally all different sizes and and the layout is crazy. Really really surprised and disappointed!

His grit and tenacity see him sail through the worst treatment that can be wrought by man on animal. (Warning:If you have a pet or if you are an animal lover it might prove extremely challenging to sail through many parts of the book). Just when Buck finally finds a master who he dearly loves and is loved, he hears a call, the 'call of the wild'. He knows that he cannot ignore the call.This is a slim volume, can perhaps be read in one sitting if you have some time. I had not imagined that such a book would keep me riveted, for it is not about mystery,suspense, adventure or action. It is about a dog! No wonder this is a classic.(if you plan to read the book, feel free to skip the rest of this below)The Alaska Gold Rush of late 19th century (1896 or so) attracted something like 100,000 prospectors, mostly from the San Francisco/Seattle areas to the Yukon region.Well cared, healthy, powerful dogs attracted unheard of premiums. This prompted a greedy gardener to kidnap his employer's dog and sell it off to work the sleds. While being transported from sunny Santa Clara Valley, Buck changes many cruel hands, however his last tormentor is particularly vile. He clubs Buck to pulp leaving him clinging to life. The experience infuses a steely character in Buck. While anything could break his body, nothing could break his spirit.Buck has to fight many competitors to finally establish supremacy of the pack.His masters recognize his remarkable character and reward him by according him the pride of place, to lead the pack. Demands of transportation make the dogs overworked, underfed and exploited, Buck included. He, like the rest of his pack is reduced to skin and bone. He is sold to ignorant but cruel masters who continue the exploitation, but Buck would have none of it. His greatness is recognized by a camper who adopts him and then begins Buck's wonderful life. He regains everything he had lost and seems even more virile and strong than the best of past times. Buck serves his master, even helping him add to his fortunes. When everything seems hunky dory, something tells Buck his place is in the wild. When the call of the wild is received it does not go unheeded.Meanwhile his master and associates are killed by native Indians.Trust Buck to take revenge and kill them all, establishing his superiority over even man himself. After this inflection point and after having lost his beloved master, Buck is even more convinced that his place is in the Wild and he returns to it, as if he had belonged there all the time.

For a reader who wants to be introduced, or as in my case, reintroduced, to a classical American literary figure, this book is an excellent jumping off point. The characters, though animal, are portrayed in terms that humans can understand, but without ‘humanizing’ them.This book shows why Jack London was one of the most regarded authors of his time. I received a free copy of this book, and without hesitation, give it five stars.

This book has and is changing my life!!! The text spells out the epitome of a successful and godly relationship and how to go about every season of your romantic life. I have watched all of the breakaway podcasts but still love reading through the book. It is filled with much needed truth and perspective for young adults navigating life in the modern age. Ben Stuart is familiar with the age group of his audience and caters specifically to our needs and struggles. I love how Ben not only recognizes the anxieties and struggles faced by modern dating, but he also speaks to the root of the issue and the need to get a relationship with God right before anyone can get a romantic relationship right. If everyone read this book the world would be filled with a lot more joy and a lot less heartbreak and regret.Thanks and gig'em!!!

As a millennial who followed the bad advice the world spits out for many years, I had no clue how to navigate relationships in a health way. After reaching a point in my faith where I felt I was ready to date again, Ben Stuart was giving a sermon at our young adult ministry in Dallas (Watermark: The Porch). His message was entertaining (not amusing) and more relate-able than any advice I'd heard about dating. Shortly after this message, Single, Dating, Engaged, Married (which his sermon was based on) was released for sale. I started reading it and coincidentally started dating a young woman who was reading the book as well. 9 months after our first date, she said yes when I was on my knee. Now, will this book guarantee you a wife or husband? NO. But when the invaluable wisdom expressed in this book is applied to real Christian relationships, its effects can be profound and fruitful for that couple. I have received numerous compliments that my fiance and I have been an ideal image of what Christian dating should be. I know that statement isn't true because we fall short of God's glory, but it is a testament to the successes of this book in our lives nonetheless. Praise God for Ben Stuart's ministry, it's exactly what my generation needs.

Ben Stuart knows how to relate to the college-aged generation and everyone in between. I've been listening to his podcasts from Texas A&M when he was the pastor at Breakaway Ministries, and when I heard he wrote SDEM, I immediately rushed to preorder his book. I am currently in the dating phase and this book has shown me what's truly important about each step in the delicate process of moving forward in a relationship.Thank you so much Ben for speaking out and helping young adults and beyond. God has used your words to change my life, and I believe He will continue to do so through this book as it brings light to the darkness, or maybe, more importantly, the gray areas of dating.

I shied away from books about relationships until I started attending Passion City Church and a friend recommended this to me after a breakup. This book will change your perspective and for the better. I wish this book was around for my generation instead of Kiss Dating Goodbye. Oh how different things would have been if this generation read Single, Dating, Engaged, Married. Please read! No matter what stage of life you are in, you will benefit from this book.

This is a great book for anyone, male or female, single, engaged, or married from teenager to old-ager. It is a great overview of relationships and friendships. The author conveys a very open minded but principled viewpoint based on his personal experiences working with young adults as a pastor and leader. I am 68 years old. I have advanced education and diverse life experiences. To me, this book points out areas that I have not considered and corrects my misguided thinking in many areas regarding family life, romance, and relationships. This book is life changing to those who want a successful life.

This book talks about how to prevent heart break and soul ties. It uses biblical examples to caution couples to avoid making mistake of sex before marriage. In addition, waiting is a beautiful and power connection, the way God intended. Even if you already had sex before marriage, God is always faithful and will not condemn you once you trust him to lead your marriage. Forgiveness is key, accept it and forgive yourself and move on.

Straightforward and Insightful. Ben speaks from his heart. He writes with candor and wisdom and sets a hopeful tone for success in the often complicated and confusing area of personal relationships. Ben is honest and empathetic to the plight of those struggling in the dating scene. He speaks to the purpose of singleness and encourages us to embrace it with a fresh perspective. And he walks us through the journeys of dating, engagement, and marriage with solid Biblical guidelines. Filled with warmth and grace, this book is going to change how you look at yourself and your relationships.

What I love about Ben's book is that he doesn't tell you how to be content and get a date and how not to be sinful in engagement/marriage. Those sorts of practices are centered on achieving a byproduct. A byproduct is not just a result but a result that comes about because of something else. Ben's focus is on how a Christian can pursue a faithful life while in these stages and trust God with the byproducts of healthy Christian singleness, dating, etc. Certainly Ben taking this angle can lead the readers into byproducts like contentment, wise dating practices, etc, but that isn't his focus or aim. Ben's focus is that Christians should seek to know God and make God known and that will mean certain things for singleness, Dating, etc. Every bit of advice he offers is soaked in that focus; love God and love your neighbor.
