About the Author

Sharon Salzberg, a teacher of meditation for more than 30 years, co-founded the Insight Meditation Society, the Forest Refuge, and the Barre Center for Buddhist Studies. Sharon’s work is based on the practices of mindfulness and metta, (lovingkindness), the aim of which is to cultivate love and compassion both for ourselves and for others. Her books include Lovingkindness, Faith, The Force of Kindness, and the New York Times bestseller Real Happiness. Tenzin Robert Thurman is the Jey Tsong Khapa Professor of Indo-Tibetan Buddhist Studies at Columbia University, holding the first endowed chair of Buddhist Studies in the United States. This book will challenge your preconceptions about the anger response while also providing you with new ways of introspection. The author provides a great guide for improving your life and a roadmap to get out of the anger habit. She writes from a Buddhist psychology point of view but her philosophy can be broadly applied. I have recommended this book to others with great success.

In a world filled with so many things to be angry about I find this book so helpful. I write my anger on Facebook, email and feel it so often when I see how people and animals and the earth are treated by those who's greed has no end. I know that my anger makes the fire hotter and so was so happy to find this book. It gives me the answer to what can be done to fight, in a different way.I think it would be a wonderful world if we all could live in this way. Please read this.

There is a lot to reflect on in this book. I got it for someone else who has anger management issues but felt that I should read it first before giving it to the person. I found it very useful and I am already a very patient person. It gets a little more complicated midway or near the end and you will not be able to speed read it, but there is a lot of material to digest which is good.

Terrific read, compelling and informative from the first page. Authors bring exceptional insights to subject matter.

I recommend this book to everyone I know who wants help with forgiveness, or wants to know how to deal with their negative emotions. I keep it with me on my Kindle to read whenever I have free moments. It adds to the knowledge I have about this practice and to my own meditation practice daily.This is a must read.

This is the book for these times. Constant outrage is exhausting. Practice what this book preaches and you will change . . . Yourself -- and the world.

Thank you very much for writing and publishing this book. In my opinion this - excellently written - book provides quite a clear description of method and skilfull support to beings who wish to transfom themselves and their environment in a way that is more balanced, wise and loving/compassionate, however keeping a clear eye on reality without being sucked away in habitual delusional projections in this difficult and often confusing modern times.
