If you have NEVER done any type of therapy, self-help, or reading you may find some useful info. But the first 50 pages are all about nutrition which if you have any kind of ED you know all about. The rest of the book was standard self help cbt dbt stuff. Nothing new and nothing revelatory about dealing with BED.

Bought for my daughter who was having some issues. She loved it. Trust me, she would have let me know if she didn't. She enjoyed how the book was interactive. She said that it addressed things she had not been able to put in words. She said it addressed aspects of her life most people didn't understand. The book is good for people who have varying symptoms. For instance, she never purged. I hope this review helps. :) God bless you on your journey.

This is one of the most helpful books I have ever used to not only help myself from overeating, but as a therapist I also highly recommend it to my clients, or anyone who struggles with Binge eating/Overeating. It offers practical and tangible ways to help yourself stop the cycle of unhealthy eating.

I love this book. I have had it a few weeks now and am working in it almost daily. For the first time in many years--this week I lost weight. It's easy to understand and not preachy. Simple and to the point. I especially benefitted from understanding the difference between overeating and binge eating. Different approaches seem to work. Have only binged once since I got it and limited it to cheese and apples instead of pancakes and chocolate cake. It will help me save my life

Upon first downloading this book I did know what to expect, nor did I have high hopes. I have struggled on and off with eating disorders since I was a child, but didn't recognise the cycle - which progressively got worse over the years. From the first chapter I was hooked; I wanted to know more about why I had such a dependence on food and how to turn my life around. Carolyn Ross explained exactly how to do that, with each chapter focusing on and exploring a different element while building a journey to self-discovery and healing.Backed with research and many points of reference, this book is not only extremely credible but is also clear, concise and can be read page by page or all at once. The exercises are easy to follow [and insightful to behavioural issues], and this book really goes above and beyond in hitting the nail on the head. I will be keeping this book as a reference for years to come! Its practical wisdom is simple but extremely profound.This isn't a book which will fix you - the hard work is yours to put in. But the great part is that Ross guides you [the reader] and leads you to find the strength within to overcome the battle you're facing. It's all about identifying the knowledge and tools that you already have and implementing them in new ways to get through your eating disorder.I'll definitely be reading other writings from this author. :)
