This book has some decent stuff in it; lots of good photos. But some of the information, such as the temperatures for the vivarium, are wildly different from anything you'll read online. It also fails to mention that fact that many BT skink species are from Indonesia and need high humidity-- and it says you can keep them in a viv with no lid because they can't climb well, which I can say for sure is not true after having dealt with an escape attempt.Not the worst buy in the world, but it shouldn't be your only source of info.
This book is a comprehensive guide to choosing, breeding and caring for Blue Tongue Skin's, a lizard I am considering acquiring, as a pet.While the information given was excellent, I was hoping for more detailed information on the various species, especially as pertaining to their specific needs and temperaments.I want a lizard I can handle who will tame quickly, and this book didn't address that concern very well.Otherwise, it is a great addition to my animal care library.

I keep blue tongue and pink tongue skinks. Picked this up because I like to keep lots of info on hand. The the book has desent info but some sites on the Internet give much more detail. As for as the photos there are a few pretty bad mislabeled ones. The worst is baby pink tongues labeled as Taminbar blue tongues.
Definitely something you want to have if you are a blue tongue skink owner, especially a first time owner.
There aren't that many books on bluetongue stinks. So this was a great find. It had great information and great photos. It came quickly in the mail.
