It took awhile for me to get where the book was going. Once in full motion my eyes were open as the doctor's were closed at the end. I would recommend this work to all baby boomers, the children of many who experienced WEWWII
Some parts of this story are incredible and I should like to see confirmation or contradiction from other sources. Did Hitler really suffer from syphilis? It has the virtue of explaining many details of the war: Hitler`s perilous urgency to expand Germany after 1937; his physical and mental deterioration after 1942; the lunacy of his late war policies. This little book deserves to be read and discussed.
This book is fascinating on how Himmler personal doctor used his influence to stop Hitler in destroying hundreds of thousands of lives at the end of WW II.
One of the best and most astounding books I have ever read pertaining to World War II. I have read much about the World War II era, and this a story that I have never heard. My one wish was that there was a picture of Felix Kersten in the book. It always helps in reading a book when you can literally see who it is you are reading about. I highly recommend The Man With the Miraculous Hands, it will keep you on the edge of your seat.
I had never heard of this Dr. Kersten before until a personal friend of mine related how he and his family had benefitted from Dr. Kersten's intervention. His father, a US citizen living in The Netherlands during WW II, was imprisoned by the Germans. After his mother, prompted by a friend, sent a letter addressed to Heinrich Himmler, his father was released after 10 days! My friend, being only 9 years old at the time, never understood how this was possible, seen the reputation of Himmler as a ruthless man, until he read about Dr. Kersten in the Reader's Digest many years later.After hearing his story I purchased the book and finished reading it within 24 hours.A very well written book, that captured and held my attention through the end.Highly recommended reading for WW II history buffs.
I had read this biography at age 12 when I was too young to appreciate or understand it. Now 55 years later I’m finding it an excellent read and powerful in its truth.

Felix Kersten was someone that I had never heard of in years of reading Nazi era and war era material; he was a quiet riot against tyranny, using his talent in massage to influence Himmler. A testament to how one person can make a world of difference to many.
