The use of essential oils is becoming more and more popular today. Not sure if this is because of the health and all natural trend people find themselves on or if it’s because experiences like mine where medications kept causing other issues which then required more medication to the point my digestive system shut down. I am pleased to say that with essential oils I have stopped taking all medications and my body has realigned itself and I for the most part am not having any additional issues. Any ways I also am a believer that you need to educate yourself when using products like essential oils and I feel these books are a good start for this. This book focused on the healing powers of Aromatherapy (Aromatherapy practice was very common in ancient times and is referred in many ancient scriptures and documents). Like with medicine you want to make sure you are using essential oils correctly so as not to cause other issues or problems. Essential oils can be used to treat health issues, minor illness, skin conditions, stressful situations, nail and hair care oils, detoxifying properties, emotional and physical healing, facilitation of nutrient transport in the body and much more can be improved. Not to mention the best part of essential oils is it natural and aids your body in fighting off the illness or infection or aiding your body in healthy rebuilding. I found these books to be very informative on how essential oils came to be and the history behind it all. It explained about base oils (carrier oils) and told what they were each best used for. There is also a listing of different essential oils and their uses. It was full of some great recipes for all different things you might need them for in your everyday life. The Author even took time to explain how to figure out which oils recipes or combinations were best for you to use. Not to mention they provided the history of essential oils and how aromatherapy is beneficial. Over all this is a great book for beginners and to get an overall good understanding before or as you delve into the world of essential oils and natural living. I started using essential oils about 6 months ago. I absolutely love them. This box set is great for someone who is just starting to use essential oils. It explains what aromatherapy is and how essential oils work and their benefits. There is a section that describes other holistic treatments that are beneficial with aromatherapy.The book explains in detail many different carrier/base oils that you can use with your essential oils. Then goes on to give you a list of basic oils you can use for home remedies and tells you different ailments that you can use them for.Essential Oils Beauty Secrets Reloaded gives you 70 recipes to make your own beauty products at home. I loved this book because I have been trying to stop buying so many store bought products that are filled with chemicals and start making my own homemade products. I found quite a few recipes in there that I will be trying soon.After reading through these books I feel this would be a great book for someone who is just starting to use, or would like to begin using essential oils. My favorite part of the book was how it describes the herbs used in making the oils. It gives you the origin of the plant, what it looks like and where it is grown. It explains the oil properties and how it is extracted. Then tells you the therapeutic properties and any precautions to watch out for. What I did not like was that some of the information in the book is repeated over in one of the other books. I was reading one book and switched to the next book and everything was the exact same word for word. Also I used the Kindle app on my iPhone to read the books. I had to turn my phone sideways to read the recipes or else it cut half the words off. I'm not sure this happens on a Kindle or tablet, or if its just the format on my phone.I received this item at a reduced rate in exchange for my honest and unbiased review. I downloaded Volume 2 of the Essential Oils and Aromatherapy boxed set to read in my Kindle reader. I just started learning about essential oils and their uses for cleaning, skin care and health. This is a very good starter book that gives the history of using essential oils going back to the New Testament in the Bible where essential oils are mentioned numerous times and also used by the ancient Egyptians. The book also touched briefly on studies that have been coming out mentioning the benefit of essential oils. Some of the potential uses include Alzheimer's, MS and Parkinson's. I would have liked to read more about these studies and what oils were used in the studies. That is why I gave this a 4-star rating instead of a 5-star. If you're going to be mentioning something interesting, a little more information would be appropriate.The more positive parts of the book included an explanation about the various base oils (oils to be used with the essential oils) and why you would use one base oil over another one. A list of basic essential oils that you need to get started in stocking your supply is also included. There are many recipes for treatments in the book. I felt that it was hard to follow and had to jump around a lot if you were looking for a good recipe for a specific ailment. However, the information was good and easy to follow, once you found it. I would recommend this book as a beginner book and feel most readers would learn a lot about aromatherapy by reading this. I was able to get this book at a discount for my true and honest opinion and that is what I have give.
